Each Fall, Mobile Electronics suppliers gather in Vegas to show the latest in automotive technology products that gadget crazy enthusiasts can use to easily take their communication and entertainment services with them in the vehicle. Unlike another industry show that takes place two months later, the SEMA Show is entirely focused on the automobile, and many of the exhibitors at what some call the Automotive Mecca, prefer an open source approach to systems integration rather than the closed systems offered by some of the OEs. Ultimately, the consumer will decide, but for now SEMA has the upper hand in the mobile electronics marketplace.
